Survivor with a Spinning Twist

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

It seems CryptoLogic keeps coming up with some great gimmicks, now I am mostly a sports betting kind of guy but I do take a few spins of online slots once-in-a-while.

InterCasino, which is the world’s first online casino and has survived the tumultuous changes in the Internet casino industry, has come out with an amazing Survivor promotion for its players this November. The concept is simple. The sturdiest of the online slots players will be the survivors and win the prizes, the others will fall on the wayside.

The grueling competition begins on Mondays. Players have to wager at least $500 on Mondays and Tuesdays on any of the online slot games on offer at InterCasino and at the same time make a profit in order to survive and continue in the competition. On Wednesdays the survivors will be categorized into three different groups depending on the amount that they have wagered during the two earlier days. Players who have just crossed the minimum requirement of $500 will be in the Bronze band. Players who have wagered at least $1,250 will be in the Silver band. And players who have wagered more than $4,000 on Mondays and Tuesdays will be in the Gold band.

On Wednesdays and Thursdays players have to wager at least the qualifying amount for their band. Not only that they have to ensure that they continue to make a profit on both days. Only those players who fulfill both these above conditions will qualify for the big survivor event on Friday. On Friday the survivors have to again wager the minimum amount stipulated in their qualifying bands and also have to again register a profit. Those who have managed to survive all through meeting all the eligibility criteria will win the jackpots. At InterCasino, prizes are being awarded for players who have failed to survive as well. Therefore there is absolutely no harm in trying because if players cannot win the big one, they are very likely to win one of the other prizes.

I have never really won anything with online slots so I am not holding my breath on this one.

Badugi Now Available on Pokerstars

Monday, December 8th, 2008

PokerStars are now offering Badugi  in both tournament and sit n’ go format.  Badugi is an ancient Asian game quite similar to lowball where players aim to make a hand consisting of four low cards with all different suits; this is called a ‘Badugi’.

This means that a hand such as As-2c-3d-4h is the best hand in Badugi.  There are three drawing rounds, much like triple draw poker.

I am curious to see how this new game fares at PokerStars since Doylesroom actually removed this game in the past because of lack of interest.

$30k plus jackpot won at Mega Mountain

Monday, September 1st, 2008

The Mega Mountain Jackpot prize at Table Mountain Casino in Friant, California has been cleared out by a local player. In a statement last month, the venue said that a slots enthusiast called Lorena, who hails from Madera, was the lucky winner of a five-figure sum.

Lorena picked up more than $30,000 (£15,000) while playing the slot machines at the west coast gambling destination. She said that the victory was unexpected, claiming that she “never thought” she would win a prize as big as that. Table Mountain Casino offers guests a variety of gambling options, including poker tables and bingo facilities.

Popular table games such as baccarat and blackjack can also be accessed by visitors to the resort. Reflecting on events this week, John Mayewski, president and chief executive officer of the casino, said: “All of us here at Table Mountain Casino congratulate Lorena on her massive cash winnings of $30,737.”  That is a pretty sweet jackpot!

More Trouble for Boss Media

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

The ruling is in and one of online gambling’s most established software providers, Boss Media, has had its assets seized in Malta.  PokerTrillion have been successful in its application to enforce the seizure of the servers from their previous network providers, Boss Media. According to a press release from Poker Trillion, Boss Media will not be able to continue commercial activity or appeal as of September 18th.

According to 4Flush.com, back in April, a judge called for the freezing of all Boss Media assets as Poker Trillion had declared a €45million lawsuit against the Boss Poker Network and online payment processor, WebDollar. Poker Trillion stated then that the lawsuit was “for alleged fraudulent and potential criminal activities of various personnel and/or the management of Boss Media, or their associated companies in various jurisdictions including but not restricted to, Sweden and Malta.” The judgment announced yesterday is just one in a string of successful applications made by Trillion Ltd. in the Malta courts.

PokerTrillion C.E.O Andy Pyrah explained, “Today’s decision will in effect bring down Boss Media’s operation in their licensed jurisdiction of Malta on September 18, and any partner still on the Boss (IPN) Poker Network at this stage will see their service closed down too. It should also be noted that despite appeals from Boss Media, we’ve been successful in every one of our applications that we’ve filed with the courts in Malta and this includes having our initial garnishee order increased from €5million to €20million earlier this month, this in turn means that there is now a €20million freezing order on all Boss Media’s assets within this jurisdiction, and in accordance with European law we will be applying for this to be executed all over Europe”. This opens a whole new can-of-worms in so far as difficulties for Boss.

Hello Casino Players

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

Hi and welcome to my online casino gambling blog.  Here is where I spread my knowledge and secrets about online gambling success that I have built up over the past 8 years.  My online poker winnings stand at $4,900, which is not that much but I only play micro and small stakes sit n’ go’s and tourneys.  The very first lesson you should learn about online gambling is that playing for the ‘joy’ of it is great but you should always try and win or else you will quickly become a negative earning player and in the long-run that will depress you.
