WOSP UK

As the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) comes back to London we are seeing a growing number or Europeans pushing their US counterparts off the tables. While competition has never been higher it seems that the Europeans are making use of the many online satellite programs which allow cheap entry routes into WSOPE. As the US players are still officially banned from using the online entry option this has seen more and more Europeans around the table.

Even though there is a bill going through Congress to bring online poker back to the US it is still some way off and the Europeans are certainly making the most of this. Interestingly, the increased exposure of the Europeans is starting to increase the skill and experiences of this particular group of poker players. By the time the US does come back online there is every chance that the European game will have moved to a new level and should offer more of a challenge to their US counterparts.

Slowly but surely we are seeing European poker stars emerge from the shadows, determined to make up for lost time and challenge the US market. While offline poker is still very popular in the US there is nothing like tough competition to bring out the best in a player. I am really looking forward to the US/UK rivalry.
